Vancouver Police are investigating a deadly collision that occurred early this morning on the Georgia Viaduct.

Shortly before 3:00 a.m., a car was travelling east over the Viaduct out of downtown Vancouver when it left the road, struck a tree and pole, and flipped over.

There were four men in the car at the time of the collision. One man was pronounced dead at the scene and three others were taken to hospital with very serious and life-threatening injuries. The identity of the four men is not being released at this time.

It is early in the investigation but police believe speed is a factor in the crash.

The Viaduct remains closed to traffic at Gore Street in and out of Downtown Vancouver.

Anyone that witnessed the collision and has not spoken with police is asked to call the VPD Collision Investigation Unit at (604) 717-3012.
