Charges have now been laid in relation to a 2012 East Vancouver collision that resulted in the death of a female pedestrian and sent one man to hospital.

Shortly before 11:00 p.m. on November 27th, 2012, two pedestrians were crossing south in the east crosswalk of Kingsway at Joyce Street when they were struck by an SUV that was travelling east on Kingsway.

A 19-year-old woman who was crossing the street died at the scene.

A 21 year-old man was taken to hospital with serious, non-life threatening injuries.

A police investigation into the incident has revealed that the SUV is believed to have been speeding and driving dangerously when it allegedly ran the red light, proceeded through the intersection, and hit the pedestrians.

The driver, Nansi Morris-Jones, a 33-year-old Vancouver woman, has now been charged with one count of dangerous driving causing death and one count of dangerous driving causing bodily harm.

Nansi Morris-Jones next court appearance is scheduled for May 13th at 2 p.m.
