The Vancouver Police are releasing a composite drawing of a man believed to be responsible for a sexual assault on Monday, May 12th.

At about 5:15 p.m., a 22-year-old woman was walking north along Cambie Street when she was approached and attacked by a man near 37th Avenue. He threw her into some bushes and began to sexually assault her before running off east on 37th from Cambie.

Police believe the suspect may have been loitering in the bushes on the North West corner of Cambie and 41st prior to the attack.

The man is described as white, 25 years old, 5’8″ tall with a medium build, sandy blonde short hair and light-coloured eyes. He was wearing a red baseball cap, a navy blue three-quarter-length jacket, baggy denim jeans and dark boot-type shoes.

This brazen attack occurred in an area that is heavily travelled by both cars and pedestrians. The VPD is asking anyone that may have witnessed this incident to come forward.

Investigators are specifically looking to speak with a woman seen at the northbound bus stop at 37th and Cambie.
