Officers will again be out this weekend checking limousines and party buses in Vancouver to ensure they are complying with the Motor Vehicle and Liquor Control and Licensing Acts.

Last weekend, police checked 55 of these vehicles and handed out 23 tickets, including one to the operator of a limousine with no driver’s license. Officers also seized the licence of another driver for operating under the influence of drugs.

“Public safety is a priority, for the VPD,” says Inspector Les Yeo with the Vancouver Police Traffic Section. “We want to ensure that grads celebrate responsibly and reach their destination safely during this busy season.”

Hundreds of limousines and party buses will be checked as enforcement by the VPD continues in the coming weeks.
