Last night’s Canada Day celebrations in Vancouver were well attended with an estimated 100,000 attending daytime events at Canada Place, 50,000 at the parade, and another 100,000 at the fireworks at the end of the evening. The crowds were generally good-natured and well-behaved in what was a family oriented event.

Police had a very visible presence throughout the day to make people feel safe in the large crowds.
