Special Olympics BC Press Release

The 2014 Law Enforcement Torch Run, in support of Special Olympics, has been underway in the Lower Mainland since July 5th.

The team of runners is comprised of law enforcement members and Special Olympic athletes who will be running with the “Flame of Hope” through Vancouver on Tuesday, July 8th.

The run kicks off the Special Olympics Canada 2014 Summer Games in B.C. This will be the first Special Olympics National Games in this province in 24 years,

The community is invited down to run and/or cheer on the participants of the final leg of the Law Enforcement Torch Run. The runners will start at Jack Poole Plaza at 11:15 a.m. this morning and will head to English Bay before making their way to Vancouver Police headquarters at 2120 Cambie Street.
