Vancouver Police are investigating a double stabbing at a Downtown Eastside hotel that has left two men dead.

Shortly before 9 p.m. on March 14th, police responded to a stabbing at the West Hotel located at Carrall and East Pender Street. When officers arrived, they found a 24-year-old man in the hotel who had been stabbed. He died at the scene.

As police tended to the first man, officers were directed to a second stabbing victim. The 37-year-old man was rushed to hospital where he later died.

Investigators from the Vancouver Police  Major Crime Section and Forensic Identification Unit were called to the scene where they spent the remainder of the night.

The motive for the stabbing is unknown at this time and there have been no arrests made in the case.

Both victims are known to the police. Their identity is not being released, pending the notification of their families.
