Update: Police Seeking Witnesses

A 60-year-old Vancouver woman has died in hospital after being hit by a pickup truck.

Around 3:30 p.m. on April 27th, police responded to a collision involving a pedestrian in the parking lot of the Real Canadian Superstore at 350 South East Marine Drive. A pickup truck was driven up the ramp off of Prince Edward Street when it hit a woman walking along the foot path. The woman was taken to hospital with a serious head injury and has subsequently died.

Her identity is not being released to the public.

The driver remained at the scene and is continuing to cooperate with the police investigation.

Speed, alcohol and distracted driving do not appear to be factors in the collision.

This is Vancouver’s sixth traffic related fatality in 2015. Four of those fatalities have involved pedestrians.
