Police are warning seniors to be cautious after receiving reports that two elderly men were robbed in their downtown apartment building.

In the early morning hours of June 11th and 12th, a woman entered two occupied, unlocked suites in an apartment building located in the area of Seymour and Davie Street and robbed the occupants. In one of the incidents, she left an elderly man with bruises.

The woman was described as being in her mid twenties, 5’7″ tall with a heavy build and dark skin. She had dark, shoulder length hair.

There have been no charges laid in the case and the investigation is ongoing.

Police are reminding seniors to lock their doors and don’t open them to strangers.

“This woman committed a despicable act against two vulnerable members of our community,” said VPD spokesperson, Sergeant Randy Fincham.

Anyone who has information about these robberies is asked to call VPD investigators at 604-717-2541 or Metro Vancouver Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
