The VPD Collision Investigation Unit continues to look into the factors involved that resulted in the tragic death of a 62-year-old woman.
Shortly before 9:00 this morning, a garbage truck making a right turn northbound onto Kingsway Avenue off Broadway collided with a pedestrian crossing to the west.
Police and paramedics were called to the scene, but the woman had clearly not survived her injuries.
The driver of the truck was visibly shaken, but is cooperating with officers.
It is still early in the investigation and police will be obtaining and examining video to assist in determining all of the factors involved in the crash.
