Starting today, VPD’s fleet of patrol cars will be collecting a little dust as our officers continue to follow Vancouver’s water restrictions.

Due to the lack of rain in the Lower Mainland, Metro Vancouver has moved to Stage 3 water restrictions.

Under Stage 3, the washing of cars and boats, except for safety reasons (windows, lights and licence plates) is banned.

“Our officers will be out there delivering the same great service, but leaving water in the taps for other priorities,” says VPD spokesperson Sergeant Randy Fincham. “No need to worry — dirty cars still catch crooks.”
