Vancouver Police are hoping to find two stolen watches taken in a series of jewellery store robberies last month.
The robberies happened in downtown Vancouver at three separate high-end jewellery stores between March 7th and March 22nd. In each case, the suspect posed as a potential customer before allegedly producing a handgun and taking off with expensive watches.
Several hours after the third robbery, officers working in the Downtown Eastside arrested a man on a Canada-wide warrant for breach of parole. He was recently released from prison, was identified as a possible person-of-interest in the three cases, and resembled images of the suspect captured in security video at all three locations.
Panerai Luminor Submersible Watch – $6,000
Police have recommended charges of robbery against a 59-year-old man with an extensive criminal record. He remains in custody.
While some of the stolen watches have been located and returned to the victims, police continue to investigate the crimes and search for the watches not yet recovered.
