One man remains in hospital after being shot in a targeted attack on the city’s east side last night.

Shortly after 11:00 p.m. on May 3rd, the Vancouver Police Department received multiple 9-1-1 calls of shots being fired near Oxford and Skeena Street. Attending officers quickly located a 33-year-old man in the back yard of a home suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to hospital and underwent surgery, and is expected to survive.

While the motive for the attack has yet to be determined, the victim is well known to police and the shooting is believed to be gang-related. Police are conducting an ongoing search for witnesses and video and the VPD continues to investigate.

No arrests have been made in the case.
