Update

Vancouver Police are looking for a man who is wanted after he was recently convicted in relation to a 2014 home invasion.

On March 29th, 2014, at approximately 3:00 in the afternoon, two men knocked on the door of an 11th floor apartment in Vancouver’s West End neighbourhood. One of the residents in the suite opened the door to the two strangers and the men, armed with a knife and a hatchet, forced their way inside.

The suspects tied up one of the victims, threatened the other, and spent about 30 minutes rummaging through their apartment taking various items.

Three days later, investigators located video of two men believed linked to the crime. It took police another three days to identify a suspect who was arrested and charged.

Last week, on May 10th, 38-year-old Jay Tyler Brown was convicted of break-and-enter and two counts each of robbery and forcible confinement. The judge released Brown and ordered that he turn himself in to the sheriffs by 2:00 p.m. on May 13th. He never showed and a warrant for his arrest has been issued.

Brown is white, 5’10” tall, 170 lbs., with a missing tooth, and tattoos on both arms, including a shark, nautical star and diamonds on his right forearm and the words “Think For Yourself” on his left forearm.

Anyone who knows the whereabouts of Jay Tyler Brown’s or sees him is asked not to approach him and call 9-1-1 immediately.
