No charges will be recommended in a suspicious set of circumstances that resulted in a large police response downtown.

At about 12:00 noon on Friday, May 20th, someone called 9-1-1 after they observed a foot behind the counter inside a locked business on Robson near Hamilton Street. When officers arrived, they observed a naked woman and at least one man walking around inside the shop.

The strange and suspicious circumstances, along with the refusal of those inside to unlock the door and speak with officers, triggered a large police response.

The VPD Emergency Response Team and police negotiators attended, and shortly after 1:00 p.m. officers were able to take two men and one woman into custody.

The woman was taken to hospital for observation and to be looked at by medical staff, while the two men were brought to VPD headquarters, interviewed, and then released pending further investigation.

Detectives executed a warrant to search the business and obtained video footage from within the office along with a number of exhibits associated to the incident.

After examining the video and speaking with the three people involved, investigators have completed their review of the incident and there is no evidence to support criminal charges.
