Vancouver Police have a 17-year-old in custody following a sexually motivated break-in at a home near East 37th Avenue and Sherbrooke Street.
Shortly after 2:00 a.m. today, a 57-year-old woman woke up to find a man standing in her bedroom. The man allegedly attempted to sexually assault the woman before he was scared off by others living in the home.
Investigative steps lead to a person-of-interest and an arrest at about 10:30 this morning. The young man in custody is known to the VPD.
It is still very early in the investigation and detectives continue to interview witnesses and gather evidence to support criminal charges.
