Charges have been approved, and the Vancouver Police have arrested a woman, in relation to the death of 28-year-old Lauren Lindsay McLellan out front of the Caprice Nightclub on August 11th, 2016.

Shortly before 2:00 a.m., the victim and another woman got into a verbal altercation inside the club, and everyone involved was asked to leave by staff members. Once outside, it is alleged that Lauren was physically assaulted by the other woman, causing her to fall to the ground. The attack continued until the accused was pulled away by one of the club’s bouncers.

Police arrived and were told by witnesses that the woman involved, along with her friend, had left the area in a taxi. The pair were located and arrested by patrol officers about 30 minutes later as they exited a cab near Gastown. The victim, who had been rushed to hospital with severe head trauma, was pronounced deceased later that same day.

The two women who were taken into custody were interviewed by homicide investigators from the VPD Major Crime Section and later released pending further investigation.

Twenty-nine-year-old Samantha Nadine Doolan has now been charged with manslaughter and was arrested by the Vancouver Police this morning.
