Police continue to investigate the death of a young child at an East Vancouver home.
Shortly after 4 pm on Wednesday, police were called to a residence in the area of Commercial Drive and Kitchener Street after receiving a report of a death of a child. Detectives from the VPD’s Major Crime Section continue to work with the BC Coroners Service to determine the circumstances surrounding the death, which does not appear to be suspicious at this time.
Officers will remain on scene at the residence to control access until further investigation can be completed.
“This is a tragic situation for everyone involved,” says VPD’s Constable Jason Doucette, “Out of an abundance of caution, we are continuing to restrict access to the home until other parts of the investigation are complete.
