Vancouver Police are investigating an East Vancouver shooting that has left one man dead and sent another to hospital in critical condition.
Around 9:30 p.m., police responded to a call of a shooting in the area of East 31st Avenue and Inverness Street. When officers arrived, they found a vehicle on East 31st Avenue near Ross Street that contained two men who had been shot. One of the men was pronounced dead at the scene. The other occupant of the vehicle was taken to hospital in critical condition.
The Vancouver Police Major Crime Section and Gang Crime Unit have been called to the scene and are expected to be there throughout the night.
The investigation is ongoing and there are no further details to share at this time.
