A second man has died following an overnight East Vancouver shooting.

Around 9:30 p.m., police responded to a call of shots being fired in the area of East 31st Avenue and Inverness Street. When officers arrived, they found a vehicle on East 31st Avenue near Ross Street that contained two men who had been shot. A 49-year-old Vancouver man was pronounced dead at the scene. The other occupant of the vehicle, a 32-year-old Vancouver man, was taken to hospital in critical condition, where he died early this morning.

No arrests have been made in the case.

The Vancouver Police Major Crime Section and Gang Crime Unit were called to the scene and investigators are expected to be there throughout the day.

This is Vancouver’s fifth and sixth homicide in 2017.
