Motorists are advised to avoid the area of Powell Street between Commercial and Clark Drive due to an ongoing police incident.
Shortly before 5 a.m., police were called to 1516 Powell in relation to an alleged assault. Members of the VPD Emergency Response Team have been called to the scene and will be attempting to negotiate the safe surrender of the suspect.
Drivers can expect traffic delays in the area, as Powell Street between Woodland and Commercial Drive remains closed.
