Vancouver Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward following the death of a man in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside on Tuesday morning.
Just after 8.a.m. on June 27th, officers responded to the report of a stabbing on East Hastings near Main Street where they found a man in medical distress. He was rushed to hospital and died a short time later.
The victim has been identified as 51-year-old Vancouver resident Mark Eriksen.
Investigators are working to determine what led up to the stabbing and to identify the person responsible. Anyone who has information about the incident is asked to contact the VPD’s Homicide Unit at 604-717-2500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
