One man is recovering in hospital and another has been arrested following an overnight slashing in Stanley Park.

Around 10:45 last night, police responded to a report that a 33 year old Vancouver man, somewhere between Second and Third Beach in Stanley Park, had been slashed in the neck. Paramedics were called and the man was taken to hospital where he received stitches to close his wound. His injuries were not life-threatening.

Police subsequently contained the park and located a 24 year old Vancouver man in the Second Beach parking lot that matched the description of the attacker. That man has been arrested, but has not yet been charged. Police are attempting to determine the reason for the attack.
