The second night of the Celebration of Light fireworks saw an estimated crowd of 250,000 to 300,000 people and again the event was family oriented and the crowd was generally positive and well behaved.

Police had a very visible presence to deter individuals from causing problems and any problem that did arise was dealt with swiftly.

Shortly after the fireworks, as the crowd left the beaches, police arrested an 18 year old man and two youths, aged 15 and 16, near Cardero and Georgia Street. The three men from Surrey were involved in a fight that was quickly brought under control by police. Officers located a canister of bear spray, a knife and a replica handgun. All three were taken to jail and charges have been requested.
