2013.09.04. august 3 sex assaultPolice are asking for the public’s help to identify a potential witness to a sexual assault.

Shortly before 1:30 a.m. on August 3rd, a 37 year old woman was attacked near the area of 6th Avenue and Moberly Street. The woman had been attending a restaurant with friends in the 600 block of West Broadway Street when she left to walk home.

She stopped at the 7-11 store located at 710 West 6th Avenue. After leaving the store, she crossed the street and walked north on Moberly Street from West 6th Avenue. The woman was pushed from behind to the ground and sexually assaulted.

Police have been vigorously investigating the attack. While conducting a review of the video from the 7-11 store, police observed a potential witness in the store at the same time the victim was there. Investigators are hoping to identify this witness to find out if he has any information about the crime or the suspect.

The witness is described as white, 35 to 45 years old, clean-cut with short black hair, and casually dressed. He was wearing blue jeans and a grey shirt.
