Vancouver’s 5th murder victim of 2013 has been identified as 32 year old La Van Truong Phan.
Police responded to the 7200 block of Victoria Drive at about 12:30 a.m. yesterday morning after receiving several 9-1-1 calls of shots being fired.
Phan was found by officers in the backyard of his home with gunshot wounds. He was taken to hospital and died from his injuries.
It is still too early in the investigation to determine motive, but the victim is known to police. He is associated to gangs and the drug trade and the attack appears targeted.
