Vancouver Police have executed multiple search warrants in relation to an organized crime group, believed to be supplying cocaine in the Downtown Eastside.

Around 7:00 this morning, the Vancouver Police Emergency Response Team began executing four search warrants in downtown Vancouver. These search warrants came following an investigation conducted by the Vancouver Police Organized Crime Section into an organized crime group that is believed to have been supplying large amounts of cocaine to residents of the Downtown Eastside.

“We believe that these drugs were being sold by drug dealers to a vulnerable population living in the Downtown Eastside,” says VPD Inspector Mike Serr.

“The execution of these warrants are part of on-going efforts by police to protect that population from the violence associated to the illicit drug trade.”

The investigation continues and more information will be provided as details become available.
