One man has been arrested by Vancouver Police in relation to a recent series of thefts and purse-snatchings in East Vancouver.

On December 12th, the Vancouver Police issued a warning to residents after three women were targeted in a rash of thefts and robberies that occurred in the area of East 49th Avenue and Elliott Street.

Investigators were able to identify a person-of-interest and made an arrest at about 2:00 yesterday afternoon. A search warrant was obtained and officers entered the man’s home shortly after the arrest looking for additional evidence.

Robbery, theft and fraud related charges have been recommended against a 28 year old Vancouver resident.

The investigation is ongoing and police will be reviewing all of the information obtained, along with re-interviewing victims and witnesses to determine if there is evidence to support and recommend additional charges.
