Police are asking for the public’s help to identify an attacker, following an assault on a woman early this morning in Stanley Park.

Around 8:30 a.m., a woman was jogging near Lost Lagoon when she was grabbed from behind, knocked to the ground, and groped. The woman fought off her attacker and he ran off.

Police responded to the area and conducted a search for the suspect, with the assistance of Vancouver Park Board Rangers and staff. The suspect was not located.

The suspect is described as Aboriginal, late 30s to early 40s, 6′ tall, 190 lbs., wearing a dark baseball cap, a dark jacket and dark pants that were covered in mud.

The woman suffered significant emotional distress, but was not physically injured in the attack.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
