The VPD will be showing its appreciation to the Chair of the Vancouver Police Foundation by appointing him as Honorary Chief Constable of the Vancouver Police Department.
Mr. Peter Brown has been influential in growing support for the Police Foundation, which funds innovative policing and community outreach programs and countless youth crime prevention programs that are not covered in the annual police budget.
The honorary appointment is inspired from a military tradition and has only been done once before in VPD history.
Media are welcome to attend and photograph the official presentation to Peter Brown at the annual Vancouver Police Ball on October 25th at 9:30 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, located 655 Burrard Street, as he is recognized as the Honorary Chief Constable.
