One suspect is in custody following a stabbing at a Vancouver art school.

Around 5:30 p.m. last night, police responded to the Emily Carr University of Art and Design, 1399 Johnston Street, in response to a stabbing. When police arrived, they found a student inside the school who had been stabbed in the face. He was taken to hospital with minor injuries. The suspect fled prior to police arrival.

Shortly before 8 a.m., the 24-year-old Vancouver man believed to be responsible for the stabbing turned himself in to police and he remains in custody, facing a charge of assault and weapons related offences.

The suspect and victim are known to each other and the stabbing appears to be the result of an ongoing dispute between the two men.
