Update: August 23, 2018

VPD Homicide detectives have made an arrest in an early morning assault that has claimed the life of 55-year-old Vancouver resident Minh Huu Dam.

Just before 1:30 this morning, police and ambulance responded to Kingsway and Nanaimo Street for an injured man. The man was identified as Mr. Dam, and was transported to hospital where he died.

Detectives arrested a 48-year-old Vancouver man for Mr.Dam’s murder and are continuing to piece the evidence together.

The evidence suggests that the two men, who knew each other, got into an argument on the street a few blocks from where Mr. Huu was located. The argument escalated resulting in the death of Mr.Dam.

Homicide detectives are not looking for any other suspects and do not believe the public is at risk.
