Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing 81-year-old man who suffers from dementia.
Meir Steiner was last seen Saturday afternoon by his family at their home near East 13th Avenue and Fraser Street.
Mr. Steiner is white, five feet seven inches tall, and 200 lbs with a noticeably large belly. He has brown eyes, shaggy grey hair and a white goatee. He may be wearing a red Canada baseball cap, a dark blue puffy jacket with a hood, a beige long sleeve t-shirt, dark flannel pajama-type pants and black hiking boots.
Mr. Steiner suffers from Bell’s palsy which causes the right side of his face to droop.
Mr. Steiner is capable of walking long distances and is familiar with transit. He is known to frequent Gastown, Kingsgate Mall and the Main Street area.
Anyone who sees Meir Steiner is asked to call 9-1-1 and stay with him until first responders arrive.
