Vancouver – Vancouver Police are investigating the death of an 85-year-old woman who was hit by a vehicle in East Vancouver last week.

“This is such a tragic incident. Our condolences go out to the family and friends of this woman,” says Constable Tania Visintin, VPD.

The woman was crossing Clark Drive at William Street on May 7 when she was hit by a semi-trailer. BC Ambulance Service and Vancouver Fire and Rescue Service attended and provided treatment on scene. She was taken to hospital where she later died from her injures.

The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and is cooperating with police.

This is Vancouver’s fifth pedestrian fatality of 2021.
